Angry North Leaves the Dirty South: On the Road Again 2 Electric Boogaloo Edition
Hey All,
To the new mothers and fathers: the kids look great! Man, must be something in the water...
Anyway, just a quick note on my activities: My great love affair with North Carolina officially ends today. I think I can honestly say that the split was mutual. It really was a “it's not you, it's me” kind of thing on both sides. So, I'm packing the car this morning and heading back home to Michigan. Am I insane? Probably, but for some reason people up there think they can put me to work. I had some great times (and not so great times) here in Charlotte, but the forces at work in my life are telling me, “Head North, my son!” All energy flows according to the whims of the Great Magnet; I'd be a fool to defy him, etc...
Well, that's about it really. Maybe once I'm settled in I will write a full debriefing on my “Dirty South” experience, but for now I need to focus on yet another high speed burn across country. Destination: the post-apocalyptic ruins of our fair Detroit.
Adieu and all my love,
Josh

St. Patrick's Day

So Mom is back after ANOTHER extended vacation. Hope she likes it out there as Ironman added a new venue in St. George Utah - and I signed up. May 2010 for my next Ironman - sometimes I wonder what i'm thinking. So, after losing about 10 pounds in the last two months and being 5 pounds less than before I got pregnant, I met with a trainer today who informed me my body fat is 24.5% and we will be getting it to 18% (translation= I need to lose 12 more pounds). I haven't weighed that since 10th grade. River and I are doing the Hanson's race tomorrow - Riv is doing the 1 mile run and i'm doing the 5k. I know my Dad is already plotting how he can get my shirt from the race. One really cool by product of the Hanson's shop is that Brian Sell (one of the US Men's Olympic Marathoners(he was at Beijing) works there - and he was there when we picked up our race packets. Pretty cool to have access to one of the best in the world. Sort of weird too - those guy must weigh 120 soaking wet. You can see that both of my girls are pretty happy which is cool. I think the big smiles are because Gram is here. Go figure. Love to everyone.
